This year, 10 amazing female composers have their works performed at the International Composers Festival, an extraordinary 20% of its total composers featured, and a distinct improvement on research that shows only 5% of concerts worldwide include music written by women. According to Founder/Artistic Director Polo Piatti of the Festival, it's a huge upturn from previous years where he struggled to find female composers for this unique three-day event of contemporary and cutting-edge concerts. A sure sign that the bearded man with the quill has had his day!
